“We don’t test our products on animals. We test our products on our kids. And on ourselves.” – Jessica Alba
We always talk about how everyone (literally, everyone) should do something impactful, more than a money-making stuff. But a lot of people also are skeptical toward this “idealistic idea”. It’s a never ending effort :’)
But then it’s very exhilarating to know that some people do really want to do good. And they are not just random people. They are celebrities, famous and powerful people who could have made money by endorsing some haute couture brands, but instead choose to do something that is not sexy at all.
If you haven’t heard it already, Jessica Alba (yes, that Jessica Alba) has been spending the last 4 years working on a startup called The Honest Company. The name explains a lot. It is a marketplace for nontoxic household products.

At a talk with Inc., Alba told a story of how she was a sick child, and all she wants is a safe, healthy environment for her baby. That’s what made her starting The Honest Company at the first place.
And yeah, it doesn’t just do good. It also makes money, since now Honest is a part of billion-dollar club.
Skeptical? Sure. You must think Jessica Alba is being used by some “real” startup founders to be the face of the company. But hey! Watch this video below and see yourself how the Golden Globe nominee talks about scaling up and other stuff. Real business stuff, guys. *in your face, skeptics!*
So please take 30 minutes for this worth-watching talk below.
